Having them in your room or around your home can make your home more magical! Caring for them, or tending to a garden, is a magical experience in itself, and of course, they look gorgeous. Utilize the convenience of them usually the bottles are small and easy to hide, if need be, but even without hiding them, they are easy to play off as just “good smelling perfume." Essential oils, though expensive, generally have magical properties that also smell great. For example, I wear sweet-smelling perfumes to dedicate them to Eros, my patron God. If you are the type of person who likes to smell a certain way (hopefully in a good way!) you can easily incorporate your witchcraft into this aspect of your life, as well. Using certain herbs in your cooking can have different effects, so you can easily use herbs and spices while you cook and be charging them with your intent without it looking like anything suspicious. I don’t practice this personally, but from what I’ve learned of it, it sounds like a very simple way to incorporate witchcraft into your everyday life without it having to be a big deal. Again, this is very easy to play off who doesn’t like wearing jewelry? (Yes, I realize this is rather feminine, but guys can wear jewelry too!) Using jewelry you already own is also a plus, due to the fact that the energy inside the necklace/ring/bracelet/etc already “knows” you, since you have worn it. Using necklaces you already own, you can charge them with your intent and wear them, and it will work just as well as if you had performed a complicated ritual. There is no trace of practicing this except what is in your mind - making it a very easy connection to your craft without leaving any evidence of it. But, for those who don’t have such problems with it, it is another extremely easy practice to connect yourself to the earth, and to any deities you may work with. I definitely recommend working with them.įor me, it is very difficult to meditate. Even rocks you find on the ground can have a use. They are a huge help in spells and are very easy to work with. If you use tumbled stones, they’re small enough that you can hide if need be. Stones are another really inconspicuous thing to use - my mother believes I just collect them because I think they’re pretty. Candles are also a cheap way to practice, if you are tight on money like I am.
Colors, of course, can correspond with what sort of work you are doing (such as black for banishing negativity, pink for promoting love, etc) or you can purchase a lot of white candles, which can be charged with intent. Even little birthday candles, which are great for travel. I tell my mother that I simply like having candles lit in my room, and once she’s confident that they aren’t going to topple over and start a fire, she’s clueless.
